Notes from Ron Tite’s presentation at The Art of Leadership Conference, Friday, October 21, 2016.

This speaker is the author of Everyone’s an Artist (Or At Least They Should Be) and past host of this conference.

Steve Martin constantly re-invented himself. As a result, he had a long and successful career. Even Barbie has been re-invented to be more multi-cultural and curvy. “If Barbie can change, so can you,” Ron said.

Focus on your art — what is the thing that delivers the most value?

Eliminate your time-sucking maggots.

Be a rebel WITH a cause. Lead with your values.

Your stories are more important than your data.

Be anti-establishment — refuse to do what everybody else is doing. Consider, for example, Dyson hand driers, Uber, Tesla, airbnb, and Square. They all chose to do something unconventional that solves a problem.

“It’s not a problem if somebody solves it.”
